Tomorrow at 5:55 a.m time New Zealand Space Shuttle STS-127 is due to dock with the International Space Station just as the two spacecraft come over the New Zealand horizon.

Unfortunately they will be in the earth's shadow at the time, but at around 5:57 a.m the sun will shine on the united complex so it will be visible for a few minutes in the Southeastern sky and appear quite bright, weather permitting. (Although the sun will not have risen on earth it will be shining on the spacecraft, making it visible to observers on earth.)

It will appear quite low for those in the North Island, but higher in the South Island with central South Island observers getting the best view.
