Earlier on this evening, Counties/Manukau Police were following up enquiries at an address in Otahuhu in relation to a domestic incident. The alledged offender made threats to the victim that he was going to use firearms.

Police on examination of the property discovered an arsenal of firearms consisting of about 45 high-powered rifles and shotguns.

Also located at the property were several kleensack bags of live ammunition of various types and calibres compatible with the firearms found.

A 70 year old male is being questioned by Police and he will be facing a range of charges relating to these items.
