Wellington and Wairarapa

Police have just received a Severe Weather Warning form the MetService. This warns of severe wind gusts of 120-130kph in exposed areas of Wellington and southern Wairarapa. Any motorists travelling in high-sided vehicles or on motorcycles should take extreme care when driving in these areas.

The wind is expected to ease off early on Monday morning.
