Examination complete - Matera, South East of Murupara

Rotorua police investigating the discovery of a body at matera, south east of murupara, have completed the examination of the scene and the remains have been recovered.


the remains have been transported to auckland where a post mortem examination will take place later this week.


following this esr will attempt to extract dna from the skeleton to allow an identification to be carried out.


in the meantime investigations are continuing with forest owners and contractors regarding logging and earthworks near the burial site.
