Search for missing 29 year old continues
"Today the search for the missing 29 year old, Emma CAMPBELL has continued. Physical searches of areas around afforestation to the west of Dyers Pass Road has been carried out by both Police and civilian personnel.
The family and friends of Emma were involved in the search also but nothing significant was found.
Family and friends also assisted in a leaflet drop in those residential areas off Dyers Pass Road and into the Cracroft area.
A further distribution into public areas around Cashmere will be done tomorrow.
Enquiries have been carried out with a range of people connected with Emma to see if any indication as to what has happened to her and where she may have gone when her car ran off the road also took place today. This enquiry will continue tomorrow and checks of information provided by members of the public are also being checked out.
Emma left her home in Bryndwr about 5.20 am on Saturday 1 May and went to the Shell Service Station in Riccarton Road where she bought petrol for her car.
The car was found at 7.30 am down the side of Dyers Pass Road by passersby. The car was empty though her personal possessions were in it.
When the Police attended they found Emma's red shoes further down the bank towards the track but there was no sign of Emma.
"We are interested in hearing from anyone who may have been in the Dyers Road area in particular," said Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae, "Because we have this two hour window between 5.30 and 7.30 am on Saturday 1 May when we do not know where Emma or her car was."
"If people were in the area and saw no car or anything between these times this is important as well as it will help in trying to piece together Emma's movements that morning."
"We are interested in any sightings of her 1994 Toyota Corona coloured blue and having the registration plate number SS1093."
Police can be contacted through the Southern Communications Centre on 3637 400 and messages left for Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae."
