Man charged with manslaughter

Police investigating the deaths of two young people killed when the car they were travelling in last night crashed in Onehunga, have arrested a 20 year-old Mangere East man who will appear in the Auckland District Court on Monday charged with two counts of manslaughter.

A 20 year-old woman – Jaycherree Penelope Makakea – and 20 year-old Joseph Jack Tawhai, both of Mangere East, died at the crash scene at about 9pm last night when the car they were in was fleeing from Police.
