Lower Hutt Police are looking for Timothy Potangaroa, reported missing by family last Friday.

The 37 year old, known as Timmy, was last seen by family members around the 6th of September 2010.

Mr Potangaroa is a male Maori, approximately 185cm tall, of medium build with long black hair, possibly tied up in a ponytail. He is known to normally wear shorts or trackpants, tee shirts and a hooded sweatshirt.

Detective Sergeant James Patea says, "Mr Potangaroa has not made any contact with his family which is out of character for him. I'm urging Mr Potangaroa to contact Police, friends or family to ensure that he is safe.

Bank account transactions show that Mr Potangaroa's ATM card was used in the Wellington area as recently as last Thursday.

Anyone with information about Mr Potangaroa's whereabouts is asked to contact the Lower Hutt Police on 04 560 2600 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
