Wairarapa Area Commander to take up role of Director of Sport

Wairarapa Area Commander Inspector John Johnston is to take up the role of Director of Sport, effective from 15 November 2010.

Inspector Johnston has been the Area Commander for Wairarapa Police for the past seven years. His role is to be based out of the Royal New Zealand Police College in Porirua.

Acting Wellington District Commander Superintendent Gail Gibson says, "Inspector Johnston has contributed not only to policing in Wairarapa, but to the community, particularly through his commitment to sport and I wish him well for his future endeavours."

The position of Wairarapa Area Commander will be advertised in due course.
