NORTH SHORE CITY

This year the New Zealand Teachers Council organised a photo competition which portrays the “Teacher in Action” spirit.

Several photo entries were submitted from schools NZ-wide.  Chelsea Primary School was ecstatic to have 3 of their entries chosen as a runner-up in the Primary category.

The winning image/s, runners-up and the full gallery can be viewed on Flickr http://www.flickrcom/photos/teachersinaction/ or via the NZ teacher council website. http://www.teacherscouncil.govt.nz/ .

Chelsea Primary School operates variable space classrooms and team teaching as a collaborative teaching approach has proven itself to be successful to teachers who work together to improve educational outcomes of their students. Runner-up fruity hedgehog fun photo captures this co-teaching partnership moments between teachers and among students.

World Teachers Day or not, Chelsea School celebrates its teachers for a ‘job well done – doing what they do best, imparting learning while having fun’. All photo entries submitted by the school put emphasis on teachers in action – paddling in unison for our tamariki and our kura, so we can reach the shore of success.

Kaua e rangiruatia te hā o te hoe; e kore tō tātou waka e ū ki uta.
‘Do not lift the paddle out of unison or our canoe will never reach the shore.’
