Fatal crash in Wellsford

6.19 PM - Police, Fire and Ambulance are currently attending a fatal crash on State Highway One in Dome Valley adjacent to Sunnybrook Reserve.

The road is blocked and diversions are in place.

Traffic is being diverted southbound along State Highway 16 from Wellsford through Tauhoa and northbound along Kaipara Flats Road again through Tauhoa.

Motorists are urged to either delay their travel plans or use an alternate route as it could be several hours before the crash scene is cleared.

Drivers are urged to drive to the conditions especially when weather conditions are poor.

A further update on the estimated re-opening time will follow when it can be more accurately ascertained.
