Attempted murder charges follow attack on officer

Two people will be jointly charged with the attempted murder of Waiouru police officer Bruce Mellor when they next appear in the Whanganui Court on Wednesday, 22 December.

Detective Senior Sergeant Neil Forlong, Central Police District CIB, said assault charges against the 18 year old and 14 year old will be withdrawn and replaced by attempted murder.

Both are also charged with the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and the attempted arson of a vehicle.
