Recovery of vehicles begins from Christchurch CBD

Police have begun the long process of removing vehicles from the cordoned area in the Christchurch CBD.

The vehicles are being taken to a secure area until the owners can be identified and contacted.

If you have a vehicle inside the cordon you can register it with the Police Vehicle Recovery team by calling 03 363 7400 or *555 from a mobile.

Vehicle owners will be contacted by the Police Vehicle Recovery Team as soon as possible.

Police hope to have a vehicle recovery website available in the next day or two.

Police thank vehicle owners for their patience during this lengthy operation.
