Iron Brion is taking his rap dance routine to the road for the 10th year running.

The eight year old singing character has been spreading the message of a well balanced diet to hundreds of thousands of Kiwi kids for over a decade.

In a travelling roadshow, sponsored by Beef + Lamb New Zealand, Iron Brion teaches primary school children about the importance of healthy eating and the four main food groups in a fun and interactive way.

Beef + Lamb New Zealand CEO, Rod Slater says Iron Brion is very well received wherever he goes.
“We developed Iron Brion because young New Zealand children have surprisingly high rates of iron deficiency. Although not a serious condition in its mildest form, iron deficiency can have a detrimental impact on concentration and energy levels, which can hamper children at a critical age.

“As with most things, prevention is better than cure. We promote a healthy, balanced lifestyle because it helps Kiwi kids get all the nutrients they need,” he says.

At the end of each show, the kids are given a Heart Tick approved barbeque beef and salad burger made on Iron Brion’s travelling barbeque trailer.

In his tenure, Iron Brion has given out nearly 300,000 burgers with the assistance of parent helpers across the country.

Alongside the show, schools are provided with a teacher Resource Kit to assist with ongoing education around the importance of a well-balanced diet.
