Surface Flooding and High Winds cause concern for police

Can you please drive with care in the Lower North Island area.
Due to overnight rain there various areas of surface water on State Highways and major roads.
On SH2 from Upper Hutt to Petone there are areas of surface water up to 300mm deep.
The local councils and road contrators are doing their best to get signs around these areas.
Also on the SH 2 Rimutaka Hill Rd there are high winds, we ask drivers to take extra care on this road
