Tourism New Zealand is working with popular Malaysian personality and travel show host, Henry Golding, to create an eight-part travel show called 'Now Everyone Can Fly to New Zealand'. The series was filmed in New Zealand during September and October and focuses on the spectacular self-drive destinations in the lower South Island regions of Canterbury, Queenstown, Fiordland, Wanaka and the West Coast.

Travel presenter Henry Golding's current travel show has approximately 250,000 viewers per episode and he has a strong social media following.

The series is supported by an integrated marketing campaign including digital, social media, bloggers and a gaming contest to be housed on a microsite that will aim to educate participants about New Zealand and encourage them to book.

Mr Golding's says one of things every traveler should try in New Zealand is to take their time and self-drive. "One minute you could be in the middle of the mountains surrounded by snow dusted peaks, and the next you're on the west coast by the sea which is fringed by a stunning lush green jungle.

This campaign partners with Air Asia X and key trade partners to create opportunities for Malaysians to choose New Zealand as a great place to visit during the months of March through June.

Tourism New Zealand General Manager Asia Markets Mark Frood says "Tourism New Zealand has a great relationship with Air Asia X, Malaysian airlines and the Malaysian travel trade. We are now seeing the benefits of this with strong arrival growth from the Malaysian market".

Malaysia has overtaken India as the 10th largest source country for annual visitor arrivals. Find out more about the Malaysia market.
