AOS incident in Kilbirnie, Wellington

Shortly before 2pm this afternoon, Wellington Police, with the assistance of the Armed Offenders Squad (AOS), stopped a vehicle on the corner of Duncan Terrace and Kilbirnie Cresent in Kilbirnie.

Acting Wellington Area Commander Inspector Simon Perry says Police had reason to believe the occupants of this vehicle were carrying firearms.

"No firearms were located however one person was arrested for minor drug-related offences."
