ALEXANDRA

A 37 year old female was airlifted from the Central Otago Rail Trail and transported to Dunedin Hospital after losing control of her bicycle.

She has given way to other cyclists on an overpass between Alexandra and Chatto Creek when she has lost her footing and slipped 1.5 metres to the ground below.

She is received a compound fracture to her lower right leg.

Ambulance and Police from Alexandra attended the trail and a Helicopter from Queenstown completed the airlift.
