Corduroy track built across this area of muddy Dunedin

a corduroy track built across this area of muddy Dunedin possibly ca. 1850s. The track was built across a stream which use to flow through this area of George St. It is possibly the earliest built European evidence yet uncovered in central Dunedin. The timbers are of all sizes and most probably cut locally with metal adzes and saws.
