The biennial festival is in its tenth season, with the New Zealand String Quartet as its ‘Ensemble-in-Residence’, joined by top national and international musicians. There are 42 events, with guests including the renowned Pra~ák String Quartet from Prague, London-based Australian pianist Piers Lane, and acclaimed Californian guitarist David Tanenbaum making his New Zealand debut. New Zealand pianists Michael Houstoun, Diedre Irons, Richard Mapp and Emma Sayers will perform some special concerts with up to eight hands participating. www.music.org.nz
