Hon Tony Ryall is the Opposition Health Spokesman. He represents the Bay of Plenty Electorate, that spans from the top of the Kaimai Ranges and the fast-growing suburbs of Tauranga City (Papamoa, Bayfair, Maungatapu, Welcome Bay, and Ohauiti) through Te Puke and on to the Whakatane River. First elected as MP for East Cape in 1990, Mr Ryall won his seat from the Labour Party. Following boundary changes he represented Eastern Bay of Plenty electorate (1993-96) and Bay of Plenty electorate (1996- ). Before becoming Health Spokesman at the 2005 election, Mr Ryall was Opposition spokesman on Law and Order for some six years.
