Dick Tayler's 10,000m Record Under Fire

Christchurch — The International Track Meet is pleased to announce today that leading American distance runner Galen Rupp will travel to NZ with his coach, the legendary Alberto Salazar, to race a special 10,000m event to be added to the programme on Feb 26th at QEII Stadium.

Valerie Adams - Destination Christchurch

Christchurch — New Zealand's premier track and field event received a boost this week with the announcement that the country's best known athlete, Valerie Adams, will be contesting the Shot Put event at the International Track Meet, to be held in Christchurch on Feb 26th.

All Black Strongman Turns Back the Clock

Christchurch — Brad Thorn, the powerhouse of the All Black and Crusaders forward packs, will go back to his schoolboy days in athletics when he turns out in the Charter Trucks Invitation Shot Put event at the International Track Meet at QEII Stadium on March the 18th.

Distance Stars Chasing Games Qualification

Christchurch —   Top middle distance rivals Ben St Lawrence of Australia, and Jason Woolhouse of New Zealand, who is currently based in Melbourne, have announced that they will both be chasing Commonwealth Games qualification in the 5000m event at the International Track Meet on March 18th at QEII Stadium in Christchurch.
