Auckland Regional Council

66 posts | 0 images

The Auckland Regional Council (ARC) is responsible for the things that Aucklanders care most about - our coasts, beaches and natural environment. The role of the ARC is to protect the region's air, soil and water resources from pollution and to ensure their sustainable use as Auckland develops and its population grows. The Council also manages the growing demands on the region's transport systems, and supports public transport services. Every person and every community in the Auckland region has an interest in the environment. Research tells us that the environment (including the coast, beaches and open spaces) is a key contributor to the quality of life for Aucklanders and the ARC acts as Auckland's environmental guardian.
