'100 days to go' competition opens 1 June
Nelson City Council will celebrate 100 days to go until Rugby World Cup 2011 on 1 June by launching a central business district competition in conjunction with the Nelson Weekly to build support for the four teams Nelson is hosting for the Tournament: Italy, USA, Australia, and Russia.

Dun Mountain trail closed for upgrade
The 34 km Dun Mountain Trail, which loops between Brook Valley and the Maitai River Dam following the route of New Zealand’s first railway line, is now closed to bikes during a track construction and upgrade over the next few months.

Pavilion on track for RWC 2011

e-Cycle depot opens for electronic waste recycling
On Sunday 1 May 2011, Nelson ReUse and Recycle Centre (NRRC), a business unit of Nelson Environment Centre opened their doors for year-round recycling of electronic waste (e-waste), with the launch of an onsite e-Cycle depot.
